The IDIT Fellowship of the Herta and Paul Amir Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Haifa welcomes graduate students to submit their papers for its annual conference.
An Academic Conference by Research Students, for Research Students
We aim at providing a platform for research students (M.A\Ph.D.) to share their research, receive constructive feedback from fellow students and faculty members and to engage with each other to create vibrant, fruitful professional networks!
This year’s focus is on advancing theoretical, empirical, and methodological understanding of crisis and recovery, with particular attention to the role of computational social sciences. We welcome interdisciplinary scholarship that leverages technology-driven methodologies, data-driven approaches, and innovative analytical tools to examine how individuals and communities across individual, social, political and environmental contexts respond to stress, adapt to uncertainty, and develop pathways toward a more resilient future. Research students with corresponding topics are welcome to submit their proposals by February 15th, 2026.

The different aspects of the ongoing crisis since 07/10/2023 exemplify how large-scale violence can unsettle democratic norms, fracture social cohesion, and reconfigure political identities. Yet such dynamics extend well beyond any single case. A comparative and theoretically grounded focus is therefore necessary to understand how societies process, respond to, and recover from crises, and how these processes shape long-term political and social trajectories.
