1. Who is eligible to apply for the program?
Applicants who have already obtained a Master's degree or who have submitted their Master’s thesis for evaluation by the primary adviser in a recognized university or research institute. The applicant must not already be registered as a doctoral student at the University of Haifa.
2. I have a master without a thesis. Am I eligible to apply?
No. Acceptance to Idit is contingent upon acceptance to the University’s PhD acceptance. To be accepted, you must have the equivalent of a thesis (writing a research paper). After successfully completing this obligation, you will be able to register for the PhD. After registration for the PhD, the candidate will be able to apply for Idit.
3. Can I combine a supervisor from the faculty with a supervisor outside the faculty for Social Sciences (or the University of Haifa)?
The principal supervisor must belong to the faculty.
4. What are the criteria that I must meet for admission to the program?
The potential for academic excellence, a desire to work and be part of a strong and ambitious group and a willingness to contribute .
5. Do I need to find a mentor from the relevant academic department?

6. There is no application on this site, where do I apply?
When applying for the PhD within your department, tell them you are interested in applying for the Idit program. They will assist you with the application process and liaise with the Idit program coordinator.
7. What is required of me after and during my acceptance into the program?
The Idit selection committee is looking for candidates who have the potential for academic excellence. The applicant must display a history of successful work, an eagerness to contribute and a desire to be part of a strong and ambitious group. A multidisciplinary research interest or focus is highly desirable.
